Start your day with a walking tour along the Bund, the shipping, trading and financial district during the colonial-era. Many notable buildings lining the Bund were designed by the architectural firm Palmer and Turner, such as the former Shanghai Hong Kong Bank, Customs House, and the Peace Hotel – now the Fairmont. Spend the rest of the day to meander in the Shanghai Museum.

Day 3 Shanghai (B/L)
Enjoy a visit to the Yuyuan Garden and the Jade Buddha Temple which is one of the active temples in China. Watch the monks serving a ceremony if it is in session and enjoy a vegetarian lunch. Spend rest of the day exploring Xintiandi, Shanghai’s famous district for gourmet food and entertainment.

Day 4 Shanghai – Wuzhen (B/L/D)
Leave the hubbub of the metropolis as we come to Wuzhen, an ancient canal town and a hidden gem in fast changing China. Visit the traditional houses, a wine brewery and a bamboo weaving workshop. Lunch at a restaurant on the bank of the Grand Canal and watch sampans and barges jostle for space. Continue to a Taoist shrine and its opera stage, where we enjoy a shadow puppet show.
Stay at the boutique Wuzhen Clubhouse.

Day 5 Wuzhen – Hangzhou (B/L)
Morning at leisure for you to stroll through this 1200 year old town with its black tiled, amber color painted wooden houses that contrast sharply with its white walls and gray flagging, brings to mind a Chinese ink and wash painting. We continue to Hangzhou and check in to the Ramada Plaza hotel.

Day 6 Hangzhou (B/L)
It was Hangzhou whose wealth and splendor flabbergasted Marco Polo. Your visit begins exactly as he recommends, with a tour by gondola of the West Lake’s elegant causeways and landscaped islands. Visit the idyllic Guozhuang Garden which offers the best views. Continue to the fascinating Huqingyutang Ancient Pharmacy, where traditional Chinese medicines are still dispensed today.

Day 7 Hangzhou – Yellow Mountain (B/L/D)
In the morning we visit Lingyin Temple to view not only a historic temple, but also to inspect the astounding sculptures of Buddha. An enjoyable drive brings us to the foot of the Yellow Mountain where we tour ancient, picturesque villages for its stunning architectural beauty. White wall, black tile, horse-head gable and exquisite carvings on the brick, wood and stone, all reflect distinguished features of traditional Chinese architecture. Check in at the Huashan hotel.

Day 8 Yellow Mountain (B/L/D)
Ride a cable car up to the summit and we check in at the North Sea or West Sea Hotel. Relax amidst this most romantic and poetic mountain of China and enjoy stunning views. A poet in the Ming Dynasty said “No one will care to see other mountains after touring the Yellow Mountain”.

Day 9 Yellow Mountain – Guangzhou (B/L)
Watch a magnificent sunrise if weather permits and enjoy a hike around the peaks appreciating its dramatic views. After lunch we descend Yellow Mountain and take a leisurely walk through the historical street flanked by black brick houses and paved with rock slabs. This evening, we fly to Guangzhou and stay at the Ocean hotel.
